Pastry & Peony brings together simple joys—a peony from my garden, two of my favourite vases, and a strawberry cream puff that felt too beautiful not to celebrate. At the heart of the composition is a white peony in full bloom, soft and expressive, framed by peach and pink irises and touches of lavender. In front, the glazed strawberry cream puff sits cradled in crinkled paper, its bright red glaze reflecting the light just so.

Strong black-and-white stripes ground the piece, offering contrast to the delicate petals and gentle colour palette. The result is a still life that feels both bold and sweet—structured, yet playful.
