At HL Atelier and Fine Art, we want you to feel confident in your purchase. Please review the information below before requesting a return.
Original Artwork
Each original painting is a one-of-a-kind work of art. Please review all product photographs and descriptions carefully before purchasing. If you have any questions about an artwork, framing, or colour, we're happy to help before you place your order.
Original artwork may be returned within 7 days of delivery only if it arrives:
- Damaged during shipping
- Defective
- Significantly different from its description
Returns are not accepted for change of mind.
To be eligible for a return, the artwork must be in the same condition in which it was received and accompanied by proof of purchase.
If your return is approved, you are responsible for return shipping costs. Artwork should be returned in its original packaging whenever possible. If the original packaging has been damaged or is no longer suitable for shipping, the artwork must be securely packaged using materials that provide equivalent protection.
Customers are responsible for ensuring returned artwork is properly packaged, insured, and shipped with tracking. Any damage or loss occurring during return shipping due to insufficient packaging, lack of insurance, or failure to use tracking may result in a reduced refund or denial of the return.
All returned artwork will be inspected upon arrival. If the artwork is returned in a condition different from when it was originally shipped, any refund adjustment will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Fine Art Prints & Made-to-Order Items
Fine art prints and made-to-order items are produced specifically for each order.
Returns and exchanges are not accepted for change of mind.
If your order arrives damaged, defective, significantly different from its description, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement or refund. Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
If a return is requested, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping charges may not be refunded, as these costs have already been paid to the shipping carrier.
Exchanges are not offered. If you wish to purchase a different size, or product, a new order must be placed.
Subscription Products
Monthly print subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting info@hlatelier.com. To avoid being charged for your next billing cycle, cancellation requests must be received before your next renewal date.
Once a subscription payment has been processed, it cannot be cancelled or refunded for that billing cycle.
Each monthly subscription print is created exclusively for subscribers and cannot be exchanged for a previous or future month's print.
If your monthly print arrives damaged, defective, significantly different from its description, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 72 hours of delivery. Please include your order number or proof of purchase, along with photos of the item, shipping box, and packaging materials.

How to Start a Return
To request a return, please contact us at info@hlatelier.com within the applicable return period.
Please do not return artwork without contacting us first. Return instructions and the return shipping address will be provided once your request has been approved.
Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, contact us within 72 hours of delivery so we can evaluate the issue.
Please include:
- Your order number or proof of purchase
- Photos of the purchased item
- Photos of the shipping box
- Photos of the packaging materials
Providing this information helps us process your claim as quickly as possible.
Lost Shipments
If your shipment appears to be lost in transit, please contact us as soon as possible.
All orders are carefully packaged for shipment. Shipping insurance is included where appropriate based on the value of the order. HL Atelier and Fine Art will work directly with the shipping carrier to investigate the shipment and, where applicable, file any necessary insurance claims.
Colour Accuracy
Every effort is made to accurately photograph and represent each artwork.
Please note that colours may vary slightly depending on your monitor, mobile device, or display settings. Minor variations in colour are not considered defects and are not grounds for return.
Customs, Duties & Import Charges
HL Atelier and Fine Art currently ships to customers in Canada and the United States.
For U.S. orders, we will make reasonable efforts to use shipping services that help manage customs clearance, duties, tariffs, or import-related charges, such as Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), where available.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, any customs duties, tariffs, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country remain the responsibility of the purchaser.
Order Cancellations & Availability
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order due to pricing errors, suspected fraud, inventory inaccuracies, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If payment has already been received for a cancelled order, a full refund will be issued.
While every effort is made to maintain accurate inventory, original artwork may occasionally become unavailable due to simultaneous sales through exhibitions, galleries, or other sales channels. If an original artwork is no longer available after your order has been placed, you will be notified promptly and receive a full refund, including any shipping charges paid.
Refunds
Once your approved return has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.
If approved, your refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for your financial institution to process the refund after it has been issued.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable, as these costs have already been paid to the shipping carrier.
If you receive the wrong item due to our error, both the purchase price and the original shipping charges will be refunded.
